Since the last few months,,we’ve been hearing rumours of the upcoming iPhone 7. One of the most consistent feature rumors has been the abolition of the traditional 3.5 mm headphone jack in favour of the USB C. We will have to wait until September to know if this is going to come true or not.

For now, Chinese smartphone maker LeEco has jumped the shark and introduced a trio of models ditching the 3.5MM headphone jack, and using USB Type C as the headphone connector. This means you can access a better quality DAC (What is DAC? See here for more info ) for better audio output.

If you are interested in this new trend of using USB C connectors instead of headphones, here’s an IndieGoGo campaign you could fund.
