Samsung brought VR into our lives with its affordable VR headsest. The only major drawback was that it would only support a few Samsung handsets. That again was not much of a drawback since you need the firepower to get a decent VR experience.

They’ve brought out the new version of their Gear VR, bringing in some subtle but important changes. The controls are via a new touchpad which is a welcome addition. This also brings in USB Type C as well as backward compatibility for older micro USB handsets. It also comes with an improved field of view – 101 degrees instead of the the 96 degrees from the previous edition.
